Covid Language - Glad Howard

This is number 3 in the series People Will Die Before Their Time. In this work I
chose to use words and symbols to define my feelings during these
unprecedented times. The aim was to capture the unstable, constantly
changing and disruptive layers of ‘normality’ in a confronting manner.
Intermingled are symbols of hope and resilience such as the dragonfly.

• This is a multi-media work. It has a variety of fabrics, threads, beads, solid
embellishments

• This work has 3 layers.

1. Machine quilted, created fabric layer, symbolising my world as it was.

2. Deconstructed layer symbolising global chaos.
3. Appliqued and stitched words and symbols
