The Honeyeaters - Jan Hutchison

Much of the diverse and spectacular Australian flora and fauna are unique to this
part of the world. For the continued survival of such beautiful flora and fauna, the
honeyeaters play a crucial role in pollenating many Australian plants. In this textile
art exhibit, I wanted to highlight the beauty of this natural symbiotic arrangement
between these two very different species – the flowers and the honeyeaters

• Silk screen and Manutex F for breakdown printing method, Procion Yellow Dye,
Printers’ oil-based ink, Bamboo leaves, White cotton fabric for background.
Several different commercial Fabrics; Variegated and plain coloured threads.
