Goddess of the Sea, Kathi Slee

Inspired by the works of Mucha and Erte,I have created my mermaid
quilt in the style of an Art Nouveau postcard.

Using raw edge applique,FMQ, 3D elements and adorned with
crystals and metallic thread. The tail was created by individually
stitching the scales then padding it with wadding.The ensem-
ble complete with bikini top ,jewellery and “Neptunes necklace”,
seaweed hair.
